Australia’s national tree day is July 28th. Schools are participating Friday the 26th with tree plantings in schools throughout Australia. National Tree Day, put on by Planet Ark, aims to plant trees for schools, communities, and businesses. Around 300,000 volunteers each year participate in the day, raising awareness, environmental education, and outdoor activities. Toyota has been sponsoring National Tree Day for 20 years, mobilizing their company to engage with the community and planting trees.

Australia contains about 50% of the worlds tree planting potential. If forests were to be restored throughout the world, roughly two-thirds of man-made carbon emissions could be sequestered. Planting more trees is crucially important to the climate change fight. Let’s support our friends in Australia on their tree planting pursuit.
