Case Study: The Circular Economy Club is Growing Their Message Via Schools

A new case study from GEEP shows the development of a worldwide program to raise awareness about the circular economy. The Global Environmental Education Partnership (GEEP) works to help grow environmental education around the world. The circular economy club (CEC) is an international network of 3,500 individuals and organizations who are working to implement aspects of the circular economy in 100 countries worldwide.

The CEC is pushing for environmental education in schools, a key component in transitioning to a circular economy, the group believes. In 2018, CEC launched the CEC Organizers program in order to engage directly with universities with a goal of including 200 different universities by 2022. Currently the group has 20 university organizers, but is working on ramping up outreach, workshops, and initiating projects to embed circularity into university processes.
