Ecological Society of America Annual Meeting 2019

The Ecological Society of America is holding their (Link to event) annual meeting August 11th-16th at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The annual meeting brings together people from all over the country to discuss important issues surrounding ecology and other scientific disciplines. The event is hosted in a different city each year, which spreads ecological sciences to different parts of the country. This year’s theme is Bridging Communities and Ecosystems: Inclusion as an Ecological Imperative.

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) is a community of 9,000 scientists, researchers, decision makers, policy managers, and educators who work together to understand life on earth through the sharing of knowledge. Founded in 1915, the ESA has continued to be a nonpartisan non-profit that promotes ecological science, raises public awareness for this issue, and enhancing communication between the ecological community and policy-makers.

One Plenary Speaker this year is Katherine N. Suding, who will be speaking about resilience, recovery, and the Ecology of change. Suding is a professor of Ecology at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is a leading thought leader writing extensively about ecosystem dynamics and management, restoration, and conservation.
