Free Registration! Driving Deep Energy Efficiency in Healthcare Event on November 20th

This Wednesday, November 20th, the Illinois Green Alliance, Peoples Gas Energy Efficiency Program, and University of Chicago Medical Center will come together at the Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery. The goal behind the event is to explore highly efficient energy opportunities in the healthcare industry, particularly in the Chicago metropolitan area.

The majority of the event will consist of a panel discussion, centered around pathways to energy saving involving heating improvements, heat pumps, and the like, as well as incentives to support energy efficiency initiatives. The panelists include Farhan Khatri, Regional Manager at Edison Energy, who has managed construction projects with budgets in excess of $500 million. Kevin McKay, Energy Advisor to the Peoples Gas Energy Efficiency Program, will also be on the panel, bringing his 15 years of industry experience with him. The panelists will be rounded out by 30-year industry veteran Harshad Doshi, Director of Infrastructure and Engineering at the University of Chicago Hospitals, with over $2.8 billion in construction projects under his belt.

The event will close out with a 30 minute tour of the building, in order to showcase the energy efficiency measures implemented by the University of Chicago. Registration and other information can be found here.
