The Youth Climate Strike is happening on Friday, September 20th. Events are planned throughout the United States throughout the week to demand transformative action to address climate change. Demands from the strike are a Green New Deal, respect of indigenous land and sovereignty, environmental justice, protection and restoration of biodiversity, and implementation of sustainable agriculture.
The US Youth Climate Strike is made up of 8 national youth-led climate groups including Extinction Rebellion, Earth Guardians, earth uprising, and Zero Hour. The strike is set to happen three days before the United Nations holds its climate summit in New York City.
